The BBQ area at the back of the farmhouse is a favourite for al fresco dining with the most beautiful views across the valley. There are 2 BBQ’s, one of which we keep exclusively for vegetarian and vegan use on the right hand side. There is also lighting and a power socket for music.
We have had countless numbers of wonderful evenings by the BBQ and hopefully you will too.
There is a boules court near the front gates to the left and there is a boules set in the Store Room opposite the main entrance. As you approach the main entrance you’ll find a kitchen garden to your right which you are welcome to take herbs from.
Depending on what time of year you visit you may come across pomegranates, lavender and many other beautiful provencal flowers.
We also have an abundance of olive trees and have now had 3 successful harvests producing some 50 litres of oil on average.
Just outside the back door and near the annexe is a frog pond with a safety grill just under the surface to protect against a child accidentally falling in. The frogs can be noisy on occasions!
At the back of the annexe you will find a stone staircase that leads up to the land behind which is nearly all part of the property too. This is the beginning of the route to the village and is the nicest and safest way to walk. There are lights to guide you at night.
The pool is a short walk away and has a gate which is designed to help protect against a young child accidentally falling in as required by French law. We’ve managed to use a local ferronniere (ironmonger) whose managed to produce a really charming design that is nonetheless functional.
Once in the pool area you’ll see the shower to your left, a pool kitchen, sofa lounge area and 2 green storage boxes which are tucked away behind the kitchen. One has all the sofa cushions (not waterproof) and the other the inflatables plus a pump.
The large infinity pool can be heated although this is never usually necessary in summer when temperatures can be in the later 30’s. There are loungers for up to 16 people as well as a table and chairs beside the pool kitchen which also has a sink and a fridge plus a large selection of plastic wine ‘glasses’ and tumblers.
It’s a lovely place to spend your time just lazing about.
